Christchurch Kindergarten @ Queensbury Nursery's Ofsted Report 2016

Posted 6/10/2016

We are proud to announce Christchurch Kindergarten @ Queensbury was awarded an Ofsted rating of 'Good' at its first inspection.

The inspection went very well, and we are now confident with the feedback we received that we can work towards our goal of achieving 'Outstanding' on our next inspection.

According to Ofsted, the key findings for parents are:

  • Children benefit from a warm and welcoming learning atmosphere. They settle well, make friends and happily engage in activities. Children's behaviour is good.

  • Staff attend well to children. When identifying gaps in children's learning, they provide well-targeted support to help them catch up. Children make good progress, given their individual starting points. They are well prepared for the next stages in their learning, including the move to school.

  • Children engage well in a range of activities, including those that help them learn about their own identity, different people, communities and their cultures.

  • Staff work well with other providers and outside professionals to help ensure that children receive the appropriate support they need.

  • Managers offer ongoing support and professional development to staff. For example, they regularly monitor staff's work and assess the quality of the provision to ensure consistency in supporting children's learning and care effectively.
